What a blessing to celebrate The Veneration of the Cross with the True Cross Jesus was crucified on.

His flesh and blood soaked in the fibers of the wood, the very cross where He took His last breath, the cross He carried for our sins.

Although I try, words cannot explain the heaviness that comes with this and the grief leading to His empty tomb.

Jesus, I am nothing without you. Everything I am, everything I have, and all that I will be is because of you.

I give You everything.

Every year, the heaviness of today brings me to tears. How alone He must have felt, how much He carried.

To this day we deny and betray Him (even if it’s in little ways).

But, He knew the ending. And His love for us sustained within Him till His last breath and for all eternity.

Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof. But only say the Word, and my soul shall be healed.
